The main objective of both Monkeyland and Birds of Eden is to provide a natural and safe environment where previously caged pet birds and primates can have a second chance in life and enjoy freedom. Interestingly, Birds of Eden is the World’s largest single span aviary and as result thereof it’s is going to place South Africa in the media spotlight both nationally and internationally. The curators working for Birds of Eden will start introducing the initial feathered residents early September 2005, and the public will be able to visit from the 1st of November 2005.

Furthermore Birds of Eden is larger than the UK millennium dome; and from an architectural and engineering point of view the 2.3 hectare, 80 ton structure with its 1.2km of walkways, 200 seater amphitheatre, and walk-behind waterfall, is jaw dropping.
