Plettenberg Bay Maps
Plettenberg Bay is located on the Southern tip of Africa. It is situated along a stretch of coast called the 'Garden Route', due to the lush temperate and sub-tropical evergreen forests found in the area (and also because it sounds good to tourists).
'Plett', as the locals call it, was originally named 'Bahia Formosa' (beautiful bay) by a sixteenth century Portuguese traveler. Guess who didn't go to the library to check up on his name... (Yes, Plettenberg Bay has a library too.)
Surprisingly, it is still beautiful.
